64Common Job Interview Questions
There are many common interview questions that a job candidate needs to prepare his or herself to answer. These common interview questions can range from asking you about your past, to your future plans, your skills, weaknesses, goals, successes, special attributes and much more. Here is a guide to some of the more common interview questions you should be ready to answer.
• Why do you want to work here? This is a question where you should demonstrate your knowledge about the company as well as showing your specific skills that would translate into success in their open position.• Can you tell me a bit about yourself? Concisely talk about what you have been doing lately and why you are applying for the position.• Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years? Your answer to this question should show goals that can be achieved through the position you are interviewing for.• What are your strengths and weaknesses? This might be the most perplexing of the common interview questions; it’s never easy detailing a weakness for your own self. Find a weakness that you can spin into a positive attribute.• Why should we hire you? Concisely state your skills, experiences, education and anything else you feel would make you successful in the position. This is your chance to see yourself, so speak confidently about your best qualities and achievements.• What are your salary requirements? This is another of the trickiest common interview questions. Too low, and you’re stuck with a bad salary; too high and they may stop considering you. Try to get them to give you a salary range and place your answer in that range.• Why did you leave your last position? You want to be honest but you never want to badmouth any past employer, it will just reflect negatively upon yourself. Answers like I needed to branch out continue to grow or I needed a fresh start to be motivated and feel successful are quality answers.• Do you plan on continuing your education? Again you should be honest but you should also show motivation and goals for the future. Without directly answering no, you can say I hope to continue to learn from my job experiences and exposure to different real world situations. These are just some of the many common interview questions you should be ready to face. The best interviewees are the ones that are the most prepared and are able to confidently and smoothly talk about themselves as well as ask their own intelligent questions in return.- 7 Common Interview Questions That Trip Up Job Hunters
